I’m so glad you’re here. I created An Expectant Heart as a place to host my words and share my faith journey and stories with you. My hope in doing this is to encourage women who are seeking Jesus and hope in the midst their everyday lives or in their seasons of trials. I’m sharing what I’ve learned along the way to teach and encourage women to live with expectant hearts.
For the first 24 years of my life, life seemed like a pretty good and long season of prosperity (minus a few trials here or there). I assumed that this was how life was: if you are good and do good then life is good – especially if you live for and love Jesus. Wrong. I was fiercely in love with Jesus and following Him wholeheartedly when I entered into a long season of suffering and loss. I lost both my baby girl and my father within two weeks of each other all while adjusting to my new life as an Army wife. I was in shock. I struggled. I wrestled. (And sometimes I still do both). But having grown my roots in Jesus, He held, rescued, carried, healed, pruned, and redeemed me. My season of struggle and loss and trial after trial taught me a great deal about my faith and the source of my hope. Most of all, it taught me to live with an expectant heart. And that has made all the difference.
And I want that to make a difference for you too.
I highly recommend starting here to learn what exactly it means to live with an expectant heart (there’s a free pretty printable manifesto waiting for you) and so you can become familiar with my website and make the most out of your time here. This start here page is sort of like a quick start guide that will show you what you need to know and where you need to go to find something. Thanks for being here.
